Understanding the Difference Between Hypogonadism and Andropause

In men, hypogonadism is a testosterone deficiency caused by a physical abnormality of the testes or brain. There may be one or a combination of causes for the disorder, resulting in little or no testosterone production. Some of the causes include autoimmune or genetic disorders, liver and kidney disease, and stress, obesity, and lack of proper nutrition. While hypogonadism can occur in both males and females, it is much more common in males.
