Although more commonly known as female hormones, progesterone and estrogen are hormones that exist naturally in the bodies of both men and women. With age, levels of these hormones drop off and fluctuate, causing many of the symptoms normally associated with aging, including joint pain. Progesterone and estrogen levels naturally increase and decrease depending on a woman’s cycle, pregnancy, and other needs.
